Construction has now begun on the long-anticipated extension to the Apex Peakway that will run through the center of The Villages of Apex. The new road will provide instant access to Salem Street, Highway 55 and Ten-Ten Road, and downtown Apex will be more visible and accessible than ever before. The completion of the Apex Peakway will also set the stage for the planned retail developments at The Villages of Apex to get underway.
Ultimately the Apex Peakway will form a loop circling downtown Apex. The Peakway was conceived as a means to relieve traffic in the downtown area and provide a bypass for commuters traveling from one side of the town to the other. The road is unique as the only “peakway” in North Carolina, taking its name from the Apex town motto, “The Peak of Good Living.”
Watch for updates as the Apex Peakway progresses toward making The Villages of Apex a more wonderful place!
