The Villages of Apex began as a vision of a mixed-use neighborhood that would compliment the small town charm of historic downtown Apex, while delivering the quality craftsmanship synonymous with the Halle Companies name for over three decades.

Following through on what they had envisioned, CEO, Warren C. Halle, and Vice President, Mike Howington formed the development team, Apex First Development, to give the residents of the town recently named by Money Magazine as the number one place to live in the United States, a unique new home community offering single family homes, town homes, and Bell Apex Luxury Apartment living.

Staying true to their commitment to preserve the character and history of the town of Apex, the Villages of Apex provide a traditional small town neighborhood atmosphere while still giving residents the contemporary retail options spectacular amenities often times reserved for much larger city living by linking a collection of distinctive neighborhoods with their spectacular and welcoming natural surroundings.

The Halle Companies donated the land to build the award winning Thales Academy private elementary school as well as Hunter Street Park, set on a spacious and beautiful 13-acres of land featuring a two-acre dog park and one of the area’s most beautiful athletic complexes with field for both soccer and baseball. The Halle Cultural Arts Center, located in downtown Apex, was named for its primary benefactor, Warren Halle, and hosts a variety of family friendly events, classes, and camps, in addition to being home to an array of stunning visual arts exhibits. The 150-seat auditorium at “the Halle” was named in honor of Mike Howington due to his generous donation that went towards the initial development phase of the Arts Center

In addition to the 202-acre Villages of Apex, the Halle Companies is also currently in the developmental stage of a variety of major projects across the state of North Carolina, including Ellis Crossing at the Park, a 302-acre mixed use site located in Durham that will include luxury apartments, single family homes, townhomes in addition to commercial and retail space. Belmont Lake Preserve, a majestic 1400- acre forested community designed around a stunning 80-acre lake with its award winning 18 hole Belmont Lake Golf Club in Rocky Mount, was recently named as one of the top 50 Master Planned communities in the United States by “Where to Retire” magazine and the Villages at Pecan Grove offer the finest in elegant apartment living in Holly springs, which was CNN recently included to their annual list of the country’s “Best Small Towns to Live In.” McCuller’s Walk, a 99-acre residential site in Garner and Raleigh Beach, a 58-acre residential site in Raleigh are currently in the planning stages as well.
